Translation and Interpreting is a bilingual textbook for the application course in translation in the new restructured BA Programme of University of Delhi. The book comprises a Reader and a Workbook. The Reader contains articles both in English and Hindi, which discuss general issues and approaches related to the theory of translation. The Workbook consists of exercises for the students. The book intends to make students familiar with the basic concepts relating to the theory and practice of translation and, create an awareness of the challenges and opportunities presented by linguistic and cultural differences in the context of globalization and the dynamics of the multilingualism of Indian society.

Professor Ravinder Gargesh teaches linguistics at the Department of Linguistics, University of Delhi. He presently teaches linguistics/Hindi at the Hankuk Unversity of Foreign Studies, Seoul, Korea. 

Professor Krishna Kumar Goswami is an Advisor, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Noida, Ministry of C & IT, Government of India. He has taught Hindi at various institutes across India.
