White Dove is a series of eight books (classes 1–8) on value education, peace and citizenship education, and life skills. Through a combination of texts, pictures and thought-provoking exercises, the books raise issues for children to think about. The tasks aim to help children develop the following skills:
The books draw widely from the NCERT guidelines on peace education and take on board UNICEF’s characterisation of life-skills-based education.
Usha Aroor has a double masters degree in education from London University. She has vast experience as an editor across subjects and has been in the publishing field for more than 40 years. She has authored Gulmohar Reader 3 and Hello English! and is consulting editor for the Golden Gate accuracy books.
