Dr Channarayappa has PhD degrees from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru and the West Virginia University, USA. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, USA. He has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in molecular biology and biotechnology for the past 25 years. His main areas of interest are genetics, plant breeding and cancer biology. He is the author of Molecular Biotechnology and Cell Biology, also published by Universities Press.
